Italy – Italian architect Enrico Scaramellini has squeezed a holiday home between two farm buildings in the Alpine countryside of northern Italy.
The intimate holiday home, called the Wardrobe in the Landscape, is made from a series of wooden panels which are painted grey on the exterior but left in their natural colour on the interior. The front façade of the building has shutters that swing open, mimicking a wardrobe, hence the name.
Described as ‘a place for contemplation, a clearing house from a daily hectic urban condition’, the Wardrobe in the Landscape is a great example of accommodation designed for the New Sublimity tourist.
