New York – Fashion week is receiving a temporary slice of traditional British luxury. Men’s high-end brand Alfred Dunhill has collaborated with London-based design studio Campaign to transform a disused warehouse into a week-long installation showcasing the label’s classic looks.
Located in the Meatpacking District, the pop-up space recreates the façade of the brand’s London flagship store Bourdon House using a mixture of aluminium panels and projection technology and will offer New Yorkers a piece of classic Mayfair until 18 February. The new winter 2010 collection will be on display, alongside limited edition items for sale.
Male-only stores are creating escapist and indulgent retreats where men can spend time, as we reported last week. The new gent no longer needs to negotiate the bustling women’s department.
