London – Artist Sean Rogg has completed the first chapter of The Waldorf Project, a series of immersive dining experiences that synchronise food with choreography, set design and live soundscapes.
Chapter one, Muskmelon, centred on the theme of a rare Japanese fruit that requires constant human intervention to achieve optimum appearance and flavour.
‘It is this manipulation that is the metaphor and theme for the first chapter,’ says Rogg. ‘A journey from the best that nature can create to the higher state of perfection when combined with the artistic mind of man.’
Electronic music duo Walls performed throughout the event, creating sonic pairings for the courses, which included a pork dish eaten to the sound of snorting pigs.
The next chapter of The Waldorf Project in March 2013 will be called Colour. The project is a great example of how Mad Science can engage all of the senses.
