Copenhagen – The Royal Danish Theatre reveals its inner sanctums in a new campaign by agency Wichmann/Schmidt.

  • In Odyssey of Creation, director Casper Balslev takes viewers behind the velvet curtain and into the bowels of Copenhagen’s historic building
  • The short film blends behind-the-scenes shots with footage of its current production and is now joined by a new series on Vimeo

The Royal Danish Theatre has witnessed countless performances throughout its 268-year history, welcoming visitors from around the world as well as some of ballet and opera’s finest talents.

Rather than phantoms with a taste for the theatrical, the ad celebrates the men and women who make the theatre tick, from seamstresses and set designers to musicians and chorus members.

‘Institutions like the Royal Danish Theatre have very visual, captivating stories to tell,’ Jonathan Wichmann, partner at Wichmann/Schmidt, tells LS:N Global. ‘It’s a matter of telling those stories in the right way in order to build up the tension, not remove it. We also wanted the film to be a piece of art in itself.’
