London – At our Future of Media Network Evening, held at The Future Laboratory HQ last week, LS:N Global senior journalist Peter Firth spoke to Rob Alderson, editor-in-chief of publishing platform It’s Nice That, about why print remains relevant in the digital era.

It’s Nice That is a rare breed of media in that it began as a blog that evolved into seven websites and then entered the print world with a quarterly magazine and an annual book.

While much has been said about the death of print media, Alderson believes that it has irreplaceable merits. ‘We live in a cultural and creative space in which we decide what we look at, and we are creating narrower spheres,’ said Alderson. ‘Print still has the element of happenstance, and can put something into your cultural sphere that you weren’t expecting.’
