Cut-out couture: A Louis Vuitton collage of fashion

10.10.2013 Louis Vuitton : Luxury : Art Deco

Paris – To celebrate its autumn/winter 2013 accessories line, luxury house Louis Vuitton enlisted illustrator and film-maker Quentin Jones to create a film montage filled with psychedelic animation and Louis Vuitton’s geometric designs.

The starting point for Jones was the bold lines of the Art Deco era, which inspired the range. She created a film that is a non-literal interpretation of the collection, referencing the graphic shapes and warm colours in a mishmash of illustration, image overlays and a dancing model.

The short film is a powerful visual embodiment of the new collection, with a Futurist Montage aesthetic. Offbeat and eccentric, it is a fun, stand-out way to present a heritage brand.
