New York – Graphic designer Michelle Wang has developed a branding concept for the Art of Scent exhibition featuring 12 scents that played a pivotal role in olfactory art.
For the project, Wang developed a new typeface called Synthetic, which was inspired by the angles and shapes found in geometry and chemistry. The typeface was mixed with artful illustrations of botanical plants in a bid to convey the convergence of synthetic and natural ingredients.
The graphics take an experimental approach reminiscent of our Digital Surrealism design direction, bringing liveliness to the layout with collages of sketches and seemingly scattered text.
