On the tiles: Urquiola adds a sense of nostalgia

15 : 05 : 2013 Geometric : Digitally Printed : Victorian Domestic Floor

London – Clerkenwell Design Week begins next week with a string of new product launches, talks and exhibitions.

One collaboration that we are particularly keen on is a new series of porcelain tiles for the Domus Tiles ceramics showroom created by Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola.

The new Azulej line is a re-interpretation of Victorian domestic floor tiles using digitally printed patterns. The result is a collection of sharp geometric graphics with Mid-century Modern overtones that will bring understated Mediterranean charm to interiors.

Keep an eye on our shows section for reviews from Clerkenwell Design Week after 21 May, and read about last year’s festival in this report.
