Changing fashions: Chalayan goes with the flow

05 : 03 : 2013 Technology : High Tech : Transforming Dresses

Paris – Fashion designer Hussein Chalayan presented his autumn/winter 2013/2014 collection of Transforming Dresses during Paris Fashion Week.

The British-Turkish Cypriot wowed guests as his originally dark and deconstructed dresses unravelled on the runway to reveal lighter, flowing dresses in a range of patterns.

The show marked a bid by Chalayan to push the realms of complexity, using the transformation to add a high-tech, scientific element to his work. The high-tech theme was continued with the use of GIFs, produced by Errolson Hugh, to capture the show and enable viewers to see the transformation in action.
