Paris – Givenchy’s head designer Riccardo Tisci presented an urban-inspired collection featuring cut and paste-style prints during Paris Fashion Week.

Sweatshirts decorated with photographic prints of Bambi, the American flag and portraits of women were cropped in half and crudely joined together to create hybrid images.

The technique was also applied to other pieces in the autumn/winter 2013 collection, including sheer blouses and jackets in a flame and Paisley collage print. Rose print and multiple plaids were patchworked together to produce a similar effect.

The collage aesthetic was extended to menswear-inspired sweatshirts and bomber jackets fastened around the waist, with hooked elastic cords worn over feminine, sheer embroidered skirts.

Givenchy’s latest collection is a minimalist take on the aesthetics of The Curator Generation, the Tumblr and Pinterest users for whom reblogging and repinning have become the norm.
