US – Drinks brand Pepsi has created a parody video, poking fun at Coca-Cola’s Super Bowl advertisement.
The video features a cast of characters that look similar to those shown racing through the desert in the rival brand’s recent Mirage advert.
While Coca-Cola’s advert depicts the characters as they battle to be the first to reach a cold bottle of Coke, Pepsi’s ad shows them desperately trying to get a Pepsi out of a broken vending machine, while a fully operable Coke machine is shown right next to them.
This is another example of a brand hijacking its rival’s logos and visual cues to increase its own influence.
