People power: Lux* offers a cultural experience

International – Hotel group Lux* Island Resorts has re-invented its brand and introduced an ethos for holiday relaxation centred around the people and cultural identity of the destination.

The company’s resorts use locally sourced ingredients and products, and place emphasis on the experience of the guest.

‘We are seeing a shift from travellers being detached from the culture of the places they visit, to a desire to interact with people and places on a more profound level,’ says Harriet Lamb, executive director of the UK Fairtrade Foundation, speaking at the 2011 World Travel Market.
