Brazil – Bones is a new orthopaedic cast that monitors muscle activity around a bone fracture and wirelessly synchronises data to a website for doctors to access. Once the information is online, doctors can monitor progress and give feedback on exercises to improve recovery.
‘Sharing this information works as a way to encourage new users to engage with their recovery progress from the beginning of their treatment,’ says designer Pedro Nakazato Andrade.
The website also enables users to share stories with other patients with the same type of fracture and obtain tips about recovery.
This is a great example of how brands are using cognitive recognition by gathering data and sharing it with others to provide a personalised and intuitive service. Read more in our Intuitive Futures report.
