Paris – Björk has developed a collection of new iPhone apps to accompany her new album, Biophilia. The musician created the apps in collaboration with interactive artist and app developer Scott Snibbe, and art and design partnership M/M.
Biophilia comes with 10 apps, one for each song. Users start by downloading the Cosmogony track, which acts as a mother app and provides an interactive experience in which users fly through a 3D galaxy where the apps appear as constellations. To hear each song users must download the next app. Each has its own theme and combines a natural element with musicological features.
This interactive experience explores music, technology and songs by Björk and includes an interactive game based on the songs’ scientific and musical subject matter.
