London – Guests staying at hotels run by Morgans Hotel Group are being encouraged to start conversations with each other with the help of The School of Life.

Visitors will be offered a Minibar of the Mind, a box full of beautiful typography-led stationery by designers Susanna Edwards and Joseph Harries.

Described as a ‘midnight feast’ of inspiration, ideas and literary anecdotes, the box comprises items such as a dreams and fears notebook and ‘writers’ block’ pencils. There are also conversation-starter cue cards with statements such as ‘We want respect more than power’. And a conversation menu will be available to guests in some of the group’s restaurants with the aim that ‘table talk moves beyond the domain of the weather and the price of petrol’.

As highlighted in LS:N Global’s Conviviality Culture trend, this is a great example of how retailers are enabling consumers to create their own story through the brand.
