Las Vegas – Have you ever had to leave the house mid-way through watching a tv programme? With LG’s new Smartshare tv system, launched at the 2011 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), you can now resume watching that programme later, exactly where you stopped it, on your mobile phone.
‘You start with a video file and convert it to any device,’ Neil Robinson, LG’s technology sourcing team leader told LS:N Global. ‘You can view any content anywhere, any time.’
It works the other way round too. People can stream content from other devices, such as mobile phones, and watch it on their television screen. With many manufacturers showing similar devices at CES, smart and connected tv is set to be one of the biggest technologies in home entertainment this year.
Insight editor Max Reyner is reporting on the latest technology devices and trends from the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas all week.
