Miami – Dutch designers Tejo Remy and René Veenhuizen are presenting furniture designs that reflect ‘curiosity and inventive use of materials’ at the Industry Gallery, part of Design Miami/, which opened today. Examples include designs featuring glass, poured concrete and foam injected into fabric moulds.
The duo are also presenting the Multi Vase concept, a series of lighting options created from disparate pieces of glasswear, including vases, bowls and jars – all fused together. The geometrically irregular slatted wood Reef Benches series will also be on display, along with two chairs, a bench and a stool that appear to be fashioned from inflated fabric, but are made from poured concrete.
LS:N Global has increasingly noted how designers are being innovative with everyday items. For another example read our Seed about the Freak Show.
