Cooking cycle: Pig Truck sets out its stall

London – Inspired by the Taco Trucks of Los Angeles and the use of ground ovens in Pacific island cultures, artists Azusa Murakami and Alexander Groves of Studio Swine have designed a mobile food stall.

Built from a bicycle frame, Pig Truck serves pigs heads in a land oven. Hot rocks are placed in a hole lined with banana leaves, a salted pigs head is placed inside and covered with more banana leaves to retain the heat and flavour. No electricity is used.

As LS:N Global explores in the Rurban Inspire, the design draws inspiration from communal cooking. ‘The stall creates an urban island in itself, while attracting customers with the simple communal cuisine,’ explain the designers.

A log table can be pulled out of the rear of the stall to provide eating space. This can be linked to our Flexthetics Inspire.
