Eindhoven – Visitors to the Eindhoven Concert Hall can listen to music in peace in special chairs, while pathways lit by the ceiling’s built-in LEDs from Philips, guide people to the bar during the break.
Design collective Van Eijk & Van der Lubbe focused on lighting technology when redesigning the Concert Hall Frits Philips Eindhoven, but also designed the glass façade in the foyer, as well as uniforms and furnishings. Listening chairs offer visitors a hideaway and special ‘love’ seats in an intimate section of the foyer feature lighting that automatically dims when someone sits down.
As LS:N Global explores in our Betatecture micro trend, we are seeing more of these separate structures in interior spaces, suggesting continual mobility and development in design.
