London – A new collaboration will enable travellers to experience cities in a new light. Menswear brand Dunhill is teaming up with travel experts Black Tomato to launch its Autumn/Winter 2010/2011 Explorer collection, including a voyager’s rucksack and calfskin or oiled wool hiking boots. Together they will present a series of journeys that capture the experience of travelling.
In Paris, for example, travellers will be allowed backstage at the Lido Cabaret and admitted to the Louvre for a private tour at night. In Moscow they will be invited backstage at the Bolshoi Ballet and will take to the air in an Aero Albatross L-39 fighter jet. Other countries included are Mongolia and Japan, where travellers will meet Samurai masters.
As we explore in our Leisure and Hospitality Landscapes report, consumers increasingly want to immerse themselves, however briefly, in the culture of the place they are visiting.
