Read it and eat: crEATe considers the future of food

London – Today’s culinary experience doesn’t stop at the edge of the plate – it encompasses, rather, the continually changing ways we consume food. crEATe: Eating, Design and Future Food, a new book by The Future Laboratory, explores this ultra foodist environment, from the latest trends in restaurant design to the branding and consumption of food itself. A section on future solutions considers what is new, next and about to dominate food debates in 2009.

Based on extensive research carried out for The Future Laboratory’s ‘Food Futures’ report (email James Brooke at [email protected] for further details), crEATe is a 208-page offering divided into seven chapters, each one containing detailed analysis of and insight into a particular food-related subject. Topics include food spaces, food packaging, food art, and whole and wellness foods. New and emerging consumer typologies include Food Thrifts, Armchair Explorers, Ethical Eaters and Cultural Chasers.

crEATe is part of an ongoing series of reports and books published by The Future Laboratory on a variety of themes ranging from luxury to travel, retail, leisure and packaging.
