Beauty Futures Forum 2017

18 : 05 : 2017 Beauty : Technology : Packaging

London – Yesterday LS:N Global hosted its Beauty Futures Forum, a one-day event providing an overview of the global beauty market and spotlighting the emerging trends that will define the sector throughout 2018.

The day began with a market overview that touched on emerging beauty markets, and an introduction to our latest consumer tribes, the Skinthusiasts and the Beauty Backlashers.

Our team of experts revealed five trends – Honest Products, At-home Analysis, The Vagina Reconsidered, Psychoactive Scents and Waterless Beauty – that brands need to be aware of to ensure their future success. We delved into our special report on Sensitised Skin, which focuses on aggressors and the effect of these environmental pollutants on skin health, revealing the most innovative brands in this field.

We talked to Anna-Marie Solowij and Millie Kendall, the co-founders of BeautyMART, about what makes their brand stand out in the current beauty landscape. Jenmon Yuen-Jenkins from the Spring Studios creative agency explained how a digital-first approach can be used to unlock ‘the passion of the consumer’.

Building on our Total Beauty market concept, we spoke to Dominika Minarovic and Elsie Rutterford, co-founders of Clean Beauty Co, about the evolution of the natural beauty movement. ‘If you’re being conscious of what you’re eating, it’s a paradox to not follow through with what you’re putting on your skin,’ Minarovic told the audience.
