Berkshire – Epara’s products feature organic ingredients and botanical actives that cater for the specific needs of dark skin.

Products in the range, which was launched in Harrods, target skin imperfections and reduce hyper-pigmentation – a skin condition caused by excess sun exposure that is common among people with dark skin tones.

Founder Ozohu Adoh, who grew up in Nigeria, wants to create products that address skincare issues faced by women of colour, such as dryness and discolouration caused by the sun, free radicals and air pollution.

‘There is currently no established black skincare market in the UK,’ Adoh tells LS:N Global. ‘Many of the products in the market are typically generalised.’

The Epara range, which includes a face serum, eye serum and hydrating mist, features ingredients such as moringa oil, marula oil and shea butter, all of which are native to Africa, ethically sourced, and known for their nourishing and rejuvenating properties.
