Global – In order to achieve a better balance between the stresses of work and family life, parents are looking to technology for assistance.

  • According to Pew Research Center, 56% of US working parents find balancing their job and family difficult
  • More than one-third of US parents believe Internet of Things gadgets make them better parents, according to a BabyCenter survey

With so many parents both sleep-deprived and exhausted, Happiest Baby’s Snoo smart crib helps restless babies sleep and enables parents to rest as well, arguably making them better parents in the morning. ‘Modern parents have less family support with more outside responsibilities,’ says Happiest Baby co-founder Harvey Karp. ‘My greatest hope is that Snoo will boost a baby’s sleep and keep parents well rested for happier parenting.’

Other technology is enabling parents to be there for their children, even when they aren’t physically present. Samsung created Bedtime VR Stories, a series of virtual reality tales for children for the Samsung Gear headset. The technology works to create meaningful parent-child interactions for parents who regularly travel.
