Play time in Toronto: Festivals have fun with design

23.05.2010 Miami : FriendsWithYou : Happiness

Miami – Visual arts collective FriendsWithYou is keen to bring happiness to everyday life through the concept of play, during its Wish Come True Festival.

‘We have been commissioned to literally address the entire city with massive inflatables and all kinds of crazy fun and colour,’ Mike Castellanos of FriendsWithYou, tells LS:N Global.

The Luminato Toronto Festival of Arts and Creativity has commissioned artists Sam Borkson and Arturo Sandoval III to transform Toronto into a ‘Rainbow City’. For 10 days, starting on June 10, multiple larger-than-life inflatable installations, a gallery show, several pop-up shops and community events will take place across the city. For instance, gigantic totems, mushrooms and bouncy houses will be placed in Queen’s Park.
