Global – Google has launched an app that lets people sketch 3D images in virtual reality.
- Tilt Brush is now available to download on the HTC Vive headset device, priced £22.99 ($32.99, €29.14)
- Users can share their creations as room-size virtual reality masterpieces or bite-sized GIFs
Tilt Brush makes it simple for users to paint 3D imagery using only a simple controller that mimics their gestures. People who download the app will be able to walk through and around a design from various perspectives, as well as select from multiple brushes and colours in a virtual palette.
The launch of the software bears comparison to the introduction of Paint, which similarly enabled users of Microsoft software to explore the creative potential of the emerging technology.
Recently it was reported that there are now more than 1m active Samsung Gear VR users, highlighting the growing potential of the virtual reality market.

Speaking to LS:N Global, Benoit Pagotto, co-founder of IVR-Nation, hinted that there would be huge applications for virtual reality, beyond gaming, that will allow new types of content and play.
