Milan – Studio FormaFantasma continues its evolution with an exhibition that examines the cosmic origins of light.
The show opened at the Peep-Hole Contemporary Art Centre in Milan and features works produced in 2015. The simple pieces made from glass, bronze and concrete highlight the expressive qualities of light.
Co-founders Andrea Trimarchi and Simone Farresin referred to scientific diagrams and minimalist conceptual art to inform the exhibition. The influence of Alexander Calder was evident in the patterns of light created by the installations, which were reminiscent of the shapes used in his mobile series. The artist’s presence has grown significantly following a retrospective at the Tate.
Studio FormaFantasma’s consistently poetic designs examine a range of different aesthetics. Read more about the studio in our Portfolio piece.
