A Suit To Travel In featuring Max Whitlock for Paul Smith, Global

Global – Paul Smith has given Olympic medallist Max Whitlock its latest suit to take for a spin.

  • The designer invited the Team GB gymnast to demonstrate the flexibility of its new suit
  • When scrunched, the fabric springs back to its original shape and the wool’s wicking properties help to regulate body temperature

The London-based fashion label has made comfort and flexibility the focus of its latest suit, giving the office staple a makeover worthy of the New Bricolage Consumer.

Announced at London Collections: Men (LC:M) in early 2015, Paul Smith’s A Suit To Travel In uses high-twist, 100% worsted wool and quick-recovery, crease-resistant cloth with water-repellent qualities and is designed to meet the requirements of the global businessman on the go.

‘The suit is designed for movement, with extra room across the back of the jacket to provide a full range of motion. As Max performs his athletic twists, flips and spins, the suit springs with him, recovering quickly to its starting position,’ reads the Paul Smith site.

The Big Picture: Brands such as Kit and Ace and Levi’s are taking inspiration from the Athleisure movement, endowing their products with added flexibility for consumers on the move.
