Samsung Safety Truck Campaign, Argentina

Argentina – Samsung has previewed new technology that will make overtaking cars a safer endeavour.

  • The Safety Truck has four Samsung outdoor monitors attached to its rear that show the road ahead
  • One person dies in a traffic accident every hour in Argentina

In Argentina, several of the highways are two-lane roads and overtaking is a regular occurrence. Samsung sought to make a difference by incorporating its technology into its own semi-trailer trucks. Four outdoor monitors are attached to the back of each Safety Truck and connected to a wireless camera mounted on the front. This way, drivers behind the truck can easily see the traffic ahead and overtake safely, without having to veer into the road.

While screens on a truck might be distracting, Samsung believes the benefits outweigh the potential hazards and is waiting for regulatory approval before dispatching the trucks.
