Crowd pleaser: Creative collaborations bring a bit of fun to Milan

Milan – Design collective Laikingland will reveal five new creative collaborations that draw on narrative, humour and craftsmanship at Milan Design Week, starting this week.

The designs include ‘Miniature Lazy Chair’ by design agency Fresh West that collapses and slowly returns to standing position under the force of a torsion spring.

Drawing on narrative, ‘Story Time’ by design studio Atelier NL questions our perceptions of time. The piece resembles film on reel and can be mounted on a wall.

Laikingland will later develop these designs into a collectable range where authors can tell their stories.

These innovative designs take the everyday object to another level – well in line with the emergence of play, narrative and nonsense we track in our Dreamtelligence trend report.

LS:N Global will be reporting from Salone Internazionale del Mobile and will be publishing information about the top exhibitions, products and trends throughout the week.
