New York – Electronics manufacturer Philips has created a new tool that encourages consumers to lead healthier lifestyles.
The DirectLife fitness program uses a discreet wearable activity monitor to track the duration and intensity of a user’s day-to-day activities. The information gathered from the device is then transferred on to a personalised webpage. DirectLife’s three support mechanisms – monitor, measure and motivate – can be used to help the user achieve their fitness goals, whether short term or long term.
The overall aim of DirectLife is to make a difference to the user’s lifestyle through small incremental changes.
As explored in a recent Insight News story, mobile devices and apps are helping consumers to lead healthier lifestyles.
