Milan – Sony has called on a furniture design duo to create a beta-testing showroom space for its new television products.
The cavernous installation, designed by Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby, has been produced as part of the forthcoming Milan Design Week, and will showcase television designs produced in collaboration with the pair. This ‘Monolith’ range of tvs features a minimal design intended to sit harmoniously alongside living-room furniture.
The space itself has been created to with little ambient noise in order to highlight the new range of Sony televisions and follows the growing trend for products to be shown in temporary beta-testing spaces. The installation can be visited at the Officine Stendhal, Via Stendhal 35, in the Zona Tortona district.
LS:N Global will be reporting from Salone Internazionale del Mobile and publishing the top exhibitions, products and trends throughout the week.
