Melbourne – Third Drawer Down, an Australian retailer that bills itself as a ‘museum storefront’, has opened a new location in Southside, commissioning French artist Camille Walala to design the exteriors.
Third Drawer Down has made a name for itself among artsy Aussies as the place to find objets d’art and curios for those with discerning tastes. The playful winking nature of the store – which turns the notion of a museum store on its head – is matched in the Camille Walala storefront. The artist designed and painted the entire exterior in her signature Memphis style, using strong geometric shapes and bold colours to draw eyes from across the street.
