Dutch courage: Multifunctional museum planned

17.12.2009 Netherlands : Pods : Museums

Amsterdam – Designed by architect Lars Spuybroek of NOX, this new museum in the Dutch capital – still at the planning stage – will consist of a 600m-square greenhouse with multiple pods attached to it.

Supermaker_Dock will be transformed by connecting it to other pods or by changing connections to the main space. Resting on a four-wheel frame, it will be possible to move each pod with a small tractor. As Supermaker_Dock develops, the museum’s curators will be able to add new pods in different materials, colours and shapes.

Taking its cues from our Dreamtelligence and Playscapes trends, the design for this new museum is truly multifunctional.
