Milan – Designers Thomas Vailly and Laura Lynn Jansen presented the latest collaboration of Inner Fashion at Milan Design Week.
Inner Fashion is a production system that creates clothes with an elastic, figure-hugging material and a loose outer layer. The materials are stretched over a balloon and glued together. Once the balloon has been removed, garments are left with a ruche effect.
A prototype was first shown at Dutch Design Week last year, but the collection on display in Milan is a more developed version. The pieces are now ready to wear, with the first layer no longer transparent and designed to fit closely to the body. Sleeves and collars have also been added, creating a more professional and wearable look. The garments are washable, making them practical for everyday use.
