Paris – Art, photography and web design studio The Happiness Factory has challenged the traditional idea of regular packaging in a project that created personalised bottle labels featuring intimate details of people’s lives.
In the project, entitled Happiness Brewery, consumers were invited to buy one of the studio’s unique bottles and to describe the story of their lives, including the highs and lows, to be used in an inscription on the label.
The idea was to synthesise people’s past emotions onto bottles containing anything from perfumes and lotions to wine to enable them to relive elements of their lives. The aim was to build up a catalogue of emotions based on real stories, real lives and real people.
This is a great example of how designers are looking to re-invent the concept of packaging. For more, read our Seed on The Tasting Bench.
