London – The Soho House group has opened Soho Works, its first dedicated co-working space.
Getting any serious work done at Soho or Shoreditch House has always taken second priority to socialising and networking. Those tapping away at their laptops in the latter are often forced to clear the way for those intent on an evening game of table tennis.
Popular with creatives across the city, the Soho Group has opened a dedicated workspace in the Tea Building, a short distance from Shoreditch House and home to a number of creative agencies, developers and advertisers.
Monthly memberships include a variety of hot-desking options, guaranteed desk space with lockable storage and a secure space for larger teams of up to 10 people.
Members will also be welcome at the group’s larger Istanbul and Los Angeles locations, which are set to open in early 2016.
The rise and rise of freelancing has seen a crossover between residential, leisure and co-working spaces. Read our microtrend The New Commune for more.
