  • Yang will present his latest collection in Los Angeles, where, in the spirit of Playing Patience, his designs will be encased in ice blocks

For the launch of his spring/summer 2016 collection, which explores rubber as a material expression of the body, London-based Yang is setting up shop in Los Angeles, teaming up with choreographer and performance artist Milka Djordjevich.

‘Since I graduated I went straight on to develop a series of site-specific projects. I would like to go to a city, stay for a week and a half, find a location and realise a collaborative project with local creatives,’ says Yang.

This dynamic approach, for which Yang is becoming well known, was a decision born from the designer’s interest in meeting and learning from other artists around the world, and in expanding his visual language from these experiences.

The Big Picture: Yang’s approach to his work reflects a growing number of New Bricolage consumers, cultural grazers who are constantly on the move. Find out more by booking your place at Beyond Borders, our Autumn/Winter 2015 Trend Briefing.
