Style of the times

26 : 06 : 2015 House Of Naive : Vilnius : G. Natkevicius

Vilnius, Lithuania – Retailer House of Naive is reframing contemporary Lithuanian style in its new flagship store.

  • The store stands out in the city’s old town with its sharp stainless steel shelves and minimalist interior visible through large windows
  • ‘We want our clothes to show Lithuania today, not yesterday, not like 1,000 years a go, but today’ – House of Naive

A playful concept that sells organic women’s clothing alongside its own brand of limited-edition chocolates, House of Naive invites customers to its new flagship store by architects G Natkevicius and Partners.

The brand’s slow design ethos is alluded to throughout in features that play with the theme of temporality. An intricate shelving-meets-wall display casts long shadows across the store that change in length during the day – a kind of functional sun dial – while the muted colour scheme allows the bright hues of the organic fabric to shine through.

The Big Picture: In the age of The Convergence Economy expect to see surprising retail combinations and retail spaces take on a life of their own.
