Emotional journey

04 : 06 : 2015 London : Violescence : FIELD

London – Design studio Field has unveiled Violescence, a solo exhibition spanning wearable sculptures, fashion, film, virtual reality (VR) and animation.

  • Field gave the VR headset a futuristic makeover, with three wearable sculptures
  • Exhibition also featured work from the Forays and Spectra series

Last week’s exhibition centred around new work Quasar, which comprised three VR experiences examining abstract concepts of aggression, sensitivity and inquisitiveness. Donning a wearable sculpture, participants became explorers of near-future worlds, their journeys acting as a metaphor for our internal emotional frictions.

‘Quasar describes the spirit of pioneering as three human archetypes, each with their own means of perception, rationale and communication,’ explains Field.

The work was presented at The Hospital Club, under the curation of digital art gallerists Sedition.

The Big Picture: In the age of The Polarity Paradox, consumers are on a quest for meaning. Brands need to act as guides to help consumers find their purpose in a time of extremes.
