Hijab style: turbans gain a modern twist

Saudi Arabia – Design agency Anagrama has created classic, elegant branding for Islamic headwear maker T4Turban.

The brand, founded in Saudi Arabia by 20-something entrepreneur Rand AlBassam, offers a modern, stylish take on the Middle Eastern turban for women.

Mexico-based Anagrama created colourful, feminine packaging for the company's line of turbans. The packaging, in pink, blue and white with gold accents, is luxurious with a hint of retro glamour.

T4Turban met with immediate success when it was launched in the early 2010s, with orders pouring in from all over the world. ‘I think [women] are interested in buying turbans because it allows them to dress up, mix and match, express their personal style, all while remaining within the acceptable borders of Islamic dress code,’ AlBassam told Middle East entrepreneur platform Wamda.
