London – Architecture collective Assemble has created a landscape of 200 triangular chairs, intended to challenge visitors and create new crowd behaviour.
The chairs, which formed part of this year’s Clerkenwell Design Week, were dotted around various locations in Clerkenwell, including the garden of St James’s church.
In true Exquisite Corpse spirit, the chairs were manufactured in Assemble’s workshop at Sugarhouse Studios as a prototype low-cost DIY chair and instruction manuals for their production were given away free.
Throughout the festival, the arrangements were shifted around to facilitate different events and uses each day.
