Bucharest – Romanian sports bar Stadio offers a more romanticised version of the average sports bar that harks back to a bygone era.
In this turbulent time of recession and environmental concerns, consumers are reviving forgotten customs and skills, romanticising elements of everyday life, as we reported in our Revivalism macrotrend.
Designed by Radu Calin and Sebastian Mindroiu of Studio Picktwo, the sports bar, situated in the atrium of an office building, also features vintage memorabilia and décor. With a scattering of football tables, bootlaces and old film posters throughout, the bar offers a sense of a revival of the good times, when life was simpler.
With the name Stadio lit up high in the centre of the bar, worn café-style chairs and tables, and lights hanging from the ceiling, the atmosphere is more warm and welcoming than the typically bare sports bars.
