London – Design studio Doshi Levien has taken inspiration from a fictional trip to the moon in its collaboration with Häagen-Dazs, setting a new agenda for ice cream bars.
Doshi Levien turned to the classic silent film Le Voyage Dans La Lune when designing Häagen-Dazs’ ‘ice cream cakes’, which are moon-shaped and contain layers of biscuit, caramel and nuts. ‘It was our intention that the deeper you dive into the moon, the more flavours and layers are revealed,’ studio co-founder Jonathan Levien tells Fast Company.
This is a great way for food and design to meet in a finely executed product. For more on how fictional narratives can be implemented to beguile customers and generate a following, read our Faction Marketing macrotrend.
