Amsterdam – The latest venture from the team behind the Lloyd Hotel in Amsterdam and the Llove Hotel in Tokyo is The Exchange, a hotel with rooms individually dressed by fashion designers.
The Exchange was designed in collaboration with eight students and graduates from the Amsterdam Fashion Institute (AMFI). Each was asked to dress a room as they would a model. Designers included Iris Kloppenburg, who dressed two rooms with solid, custom-made cloth, and Malu Gehner, whose Shoulder Pad room was inspired by military adornments.
The hotel also includes a 230-square-metre department store called OPTIONS! in a neighbouring property. The store stocks a range of products, including pieces from AMFI students as well as a selection of items designed exclusively for the rooms.
