New York – Traditional catwalk shows have become passé as fashion labels seek to cut costs and reach new audiences with online presentations. Now, re-animated 70s brand Halston has taken the catwalk video trend further with a high-production-value short. In it, model Dree Hemingway shows off the line’s signature flowing fabrics by sprinting along a New York street, passing other frozen-posed models along the way. The video has provoked much discussion (and in some cases, derision) online – well beyond reactions from the traditional fashion press – giving the brand a resonance that it could never have achieved with a traditional catwalk show.
