Setting up camp: Hotel makes a clean break

The Hüttenpalast hotel was built in a disused vacuum cleaner factory in the Neukölln area of southeastern Berlin. The former production space has been transformed into a 200-square-metre ‘playground’, with outdoor furniture and tree trunks creating the impression of a campsite.

The accommodation is aimed at the design-savvy, low-budget market. Local artists and designers helped to create the caravans and huts, and each simply contains a bed and a decked terrace area.
