Portland – Style and craft blogger Wood & Faulk has designed a downloadable paper template that enables people to make their own axe sheath.
The Oregon-based blog explores Revivalist techniques, encouraging readers to test and contribute to the design process. In an earlier project, Wood & Faulk sent untreated vegetable-tanned leather belts to readers, asking them to break in the leather and document the change in finish over time. Images and ideas could then be shared on a dedicated Flickr page.
We are seeing a growing number of examples of downloadable design, as people are encouraged to look at new ways to improve sustainability. For more information, read our recent Design it Yourself feature.
