Holon, Israel – A new exhibition, POST FOSSIL: Excavating 21st Century Creation, has opened at the Design Museum Holon.
The show, curated by trend forecaster Li Edelkoort, features the work of more than 60 international contemporary designers, including Arik Levy, Thomás Libertiny and Pieke Bergmans. ‘Edelkoort has assembled a selection of future fossils, based on the understanding that one of the best ways to study design is through the analysis of archaeological relics,’ says Gali Gaon, chief curator of Design Museum Holon.
The designers on show are united in their use of primitive materials or process. The exhibition aims to highlight a movement away from the glamour and excess in design that was evident before the economic crisis.
