Eindhoven, the Netherlands – The Philips electronics company’s new Metamorphosis project explores the ways in which city dwellers can reconnect with nature.
Using the themes of air, body, light and sound, the project has created design concepts that use the home as a filter to limit pollution, electromagnetic smog and industrial noise.
Metamorphosis designs include the Healing Bed, which brings in natural light from outside using frequency spectrum filters such as UV and infra-red. Another example is the Wave Daybed, which changes shape according to the user’s natural resting positions.
